Infrasound
A summary of 35 years of infrasound research
Ludwik Liszka
Swedish Institute of Space Physics

Aus dem Vorwort:

"... The author’s interest in infrasound emerged from a decade of studies of wave phenomena in the ionosphere. These phenomena appeared frequently on radio-recordings of signals from artificial satellites, which started to populate space at the end of the 1950´s. These oscillations in the electron density, influencing the propagation of radio signals, were evidently a result of the propagation of low-frequency pressure waves through the atmosphere. When infrasound and its unusual propagation properties was rediscovered during the 1960’s in connection with atmospheric nuclear tests, it became obvious that the recording of infrasonic waves at the ground level could contribute to a better understanding of wave phenomena in the atmosphere.
This book is a summary of more than 35 years spent by the author and his co-workers within the field of infrasound. The work was strongly biased towards development of detection techniques with highest possible sensitivity and accuracy of pinpointing direction of origin..
The infrasound studied here, with frequencies between 0.5 and 10 Hz, at the levels occurring in the environment, is completely undetectable by human hearing. We are thus surrounded by a world of non-audible sounds, carrying vast amounts of information, which we cannot apprehend. It has therefore been a very exciting journey through a process of identifying new signal types and their properties, and finally finding their origins. This journey is, apparently, far from over. We continually find new infrasonic signatures, which cannot be immediately
explained. ..."

A Collection of Scientific Works and Comments on the HUM

"... WHAT IS THE HUM?

(We fear less what we understand)

The HUM is an unusual noise, heard usually, but not exclusively, nocturnally. It is reckoned only to be heard by between 2 and 11% of the World’s population in industrialised regions and is characterised by tones matched by hearers in the region 30-80 Hz yet not necessarily detectable by acoustic detectors or instruments at these frequencies. Superimposed upon the higher frequencies perceived are present pseudo random modulations in the region 0.25-5 Hz giving an effect sounding to some like a distant idling engine or to others a very large bee trapped in a bottle but often considerably lower pitched and barley discernable yet can be extremely annoying or distressing to some of those afflicted.

The HUM was first heard in the UK in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s and first heard in the USA in the early 1990’s. More recently it is heard in Scandinavia, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. It seems that as the World becomes more industrialised there are more cases of the HUM. This fact alone suggests the HUM must, somehow, be associated with infrastructure and shown now JUNE 2009 to be amplified by DOUBLE GLAZING 1ST INTRODUCED IN THE UK 1969!!!

Several past publications have sought to understand the HUM and there are several World Wide Internet Forums on the subject which sadly get abused by idiots and crackpots banding about UFO and conspiracy theories. Such ideas frustrate the real Science of the HUM. ..."

"schlampig" geschrieben ist (u.a. fehlendes Datum, ...):
